Mom to Jacob, a twin

Died July 6, 2008 and born September 10, 2008

Tucson, Arizona

My journey started in February 2008. It never occurred to me that I would have anything other than an ideal, fairy tale pregnancy. I would have a healthy baby and it would all be so easy and magical…Wrong! I found out at 13 weeks that I was having twins. This possibility never entered my mind. I was terrified, and my husband was terrified. But we knew it would be ok. We started planning, we picked names: Baby A would be Jacob and Baby B would be Kaleb. I dreamed about their room, I ordered their bedding sets and I bought letters to paint and hang above their cribs. I was secretly afraid I would mix them up so I wanted their names above their cribs. I painted them myself and had so much fun. [Read more…]

During an ultrasound at 12 weeks, my OB asked me, “Are you seeing what I’m seeing?“ The answer to his question, confirmed what I already knew in my heart, and would in fact, change my life forever. [Read more…]

Mom to Angel Garcia
Born and Passed on April 30th, 2010

On October 28th 2009 I took a home pregnancy test because I was a couple days late and knew pregnancy was highly possible.  I had my Mirena removed in July as Tim and I decided we would like to have another baby.  In November I had my first prenatal appointment and Tim and I were SHOCKED when the ultra-sound technician told us there were three heartbeats.  This was supposed to be number four, now we were learning it would be number five and six as well!

Mom to Hannah born July 9, 2010
and Miscarriage at 8 weeks on June 23, 2008
Dubai, United Arab Emirates
Ever since I was a little girl – all I spoke about and wanted was to get married and have lots of children. I actually thought I’d ‘settle’ on 5 children but when I met my husband he made it clear he only wanted to have 2 children. Between us we have loads of twins in our family, his father, my mother, my mother had twins, my grandfather is a twin…. Needless to say twins run in the family. So I spoke with certainty, that well – then we’d just have to have 1 child and then twins later, so that we would have 3 children!

Life was going great my husband and I decided to get pregnant on mother’s day two year’s ago, so I then stopped taking my birth control and shortly after within a few week’s I became pregnant with our first daughter. She was born healthy and turned out to be my birthday present :) I had turned 21 and had found out I had a baby girl all in one night, how great was that! When she was about three months I told my then fiance that I wanted another baby ( I had baby fever ) and we wanted our kid’s close in age. Well my husband agreed that it would be nice to try again.

Mom to Tabitha Faith
Passed away May 21st, 2009, and was born with her surviving twin sister, Heidi Faith, August 7th, 2009
Bossier City, LA
In December 2008 going into the new year, I found myself abnormally exhausted. All I wanted to do was sleep! I am a nurse and worked nights, so I figured it was just the rigorous work schedule taking a toll. I hadn’t had my period in about a month and a half, but I have always been irregular, so didn’t think much of it…even with the fact I had been off my birth control a month, I still didn’t think pregnancy was a real option. I took a test the beginning of January 2009 and it was negative.

Mom to Sophia Rene
Died March 11th, 2008 and was born with her surviving twin sister, Mya, on June 30th, 2008
Monrovia, CA

Every one of us has a story. Mine is that I am a mother of twins, Sophia Rene (twin A) and Mya Quinn (twin B).
On November 21, 2008 I could not sleep. I got up and took a pregnancy test and there it was “PREGNANT.” I quickly woke up my husband Eddie to show him. We were so excited. I already had a doctors appointment that morning for my flu shot and I had my doctor confirm we were indeed pregnant. That night we told our parents. The following day we hosted 45 family members at our home for Thanksgiving, and how thankful we were that day.
