My husband(34) and I(32) will be married for 10 years on April 17, 2014. The following month(May) we will also approach the 10th year of trying to conceive our first child.

My story and our journey through losses starts back when I was diagnosed with PCOS(Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome at the age of 14. When diagnosed, I was told that it would be difficult if not completely impossible for me to have children. It scared me to death because I have always wanted to be a mother and always thought I would have a big family. [Read more...]

Mom to Leighton

Lost September 7, 2012

Columbus, Ohio

I found out on July 8th that we were expecting. I was 4 weeks pregnant and due March 15th! So close to my mom’s (March 6th) and my father-in-law’s (March 9th) birthdays! How cool! We were so excited, and so were our daughters!

From day one of finding out I was pregnant, I just had a weird feeling about something, while also having a lot of abdominal pains. At 6 weeks, we finally decided to just go to the hospital and have me checked over. At first they couldn’t figure out what was wrong, but knew something was. They thought I was pregnant with twins and one didn’t make it. They soon realized my hCG levels were not rising enough to be pregnant with twins. My hCG levels were actually lower than they should have been for a 6 week pregnancy. Then we found out that I had a cyst on one side of our baby and a “bleed” on the other. We were worried, but were reassured that for now everything was ok. They scheduled me for an ultrasound and hCG levels checked a couple days later, and everything was good with both! [Read more...]

Mom to Langston Elliot

Miscarried November 15, 2011

West Carrollton, Ohio

I first found out I was five weeks pregnant with Langston exactly one month before we lost him, October 15, 2011. This was my first pregnancy and my husband and I were ecstatic! We had not planned for a child, but we were happy nevertheless. We already had a name picked for him and began to come up with nursery ideas right away. We decided on Classic Pooh whether it was a boy or a girl. Even though Langston passed away before we really knew his gender, I could just tell he was boy by the way I felt. We had mapped out the nursery and told our family and friends early on (we even bought a crib set off eBay). We felt like a miscarriage could never happen to us, because my mom kept telling me how I was born to have babies. I never thought anything of it. [Read more...]

 Jaxon Gray,
Born still on June 28, 2012 at 20 weeks

Dayton, Ohio

On March 27th, a week after our son turned 5, we found out we were expecting. We were so happy! We had been trying for 2 years. Our son had been asking for a sibling for awhile, so we were so happy that we could finally give him one! At 7 weeks we had an ultrasound to check for a healthy baby and get an exact due date since we had no idea when we conceived. Well, were we really surprised when we saw 2 little peanuts and 2 little fluttering hearts! Never did we ever expect to naturally get pregnant with twins! And identical twins at that! Baby B was a little smaller but looked good and had a strong heartbeat. I had never been so tired in my life; these little babies were taking everything from me! By 10 weeks I had lost almost 15 pounds! [Read more...]

Mom to Baby Kester

Born and Passed on February 17, 2012

It all started with multiple positive pregnancy tests three days before Christmas. I was beyond thrilled and I instantly started crying at the sight of those two pink lines. Naturally I thought of a cute way to tell my fiancé, so I wrapped the test up and waited until he came home. He was so excited and he was speechless. We had been trying for 15 months and were starting to get disappointed, but we got our Christmas miracle. I was told when I was in my early teen years that it could be hard for me to conceive due to being abused as a child, so I was ecstatic. [Read more...]

My name is Nicki and I am a mommy to a little lady who dances on the other side of eternity. We found out we were pregnant on February 17th, 2011. We had been trying for about 2.5 years and we could not BELIEVE what we were seeing! We were filled to the brim with Joy and Love for the sweet baby we didn’t even know yet! We went through our pregnancy with flying colors, I was healthy and the baby was healthy. All was well in our world. We came to June and we decided to have a gender reveal party; we cut the cake and the inside color told us what my belly held inside. [Read more...]

Lost to ectopic pregnancy October 2008

Akron, Ohio

At nineteen years old I was diagnosed with PCOS. I was told many different things from many different doctors, ranging from, “You will never be able to have children,” to “The only way I tell someone they will never have children is if they do not have a uterus.” December 25, 2007, at the age of 33, I found out I was pregnant (exactly 17 weeks 4 days…yes I missed my entire first trimester!). I had defied the odds that were against me…this was a miracle!! At this point I was single, finishing grad school and a full time teacher. May 29, 2008, Jacob came into this world and today he is a healthy, happy, intelligent light in my world!!

Mom to Silas Hunter

July 23, 2011 - August 1, 2011

Newark, Ohio

I started having Braxton Hicks at around 19 weeks. Nothing to be worried about, except once after we moved. I was having them for a good 45 minutes about every 4-5 minutes. I called my doctor and we stopped them. About 2 weeks later (maybe sooner, it’s all been a rush), I woke up about 6:15am with Braxton Hicks…the ones I had gone to bed with.  But then I started getting pains..”Oh crap, I’m constipated.” These pains, oh my goodness, they kept getting worse. I went downstairs and tried to walk around, drink water, and I laid down. Boyfriend was upstairs in bed still, it was a Saturday. About 11 or so, I woke him up because I couldn’t take it anymore. I called Labor & Delivery and they told me to get some Milk of Magnesia. My boyfriend ran to the store and got it, came back a half hour or so later, but it wasn’t working and the pain was getting worse. [Read more...]

April of 2011, was so busy for me. I was in school full time, just started a new job, my husband was working and my oldest son was just finishing up preschool. I always joked that my youngest son, Tyler, was just along for the ride. Tyler had just turned four on the 17th.

I think the easiest way to tell my story is to just start from the beginning. My son, Mazio , had just turned one in June of 2010. My husband, Ben , and I had been anxiously awaiting the one year mark to start trying to conceive again. Since I had a csection with my son at 29 weeks due to preeclampsia we were told to wait one full year before trying. I was so excited and anxious to be pregnant again. I was also a bit scared as well since the chance of another preeclamptic pregnancy was now higher. We had only tried for a month when I by chance had a gut feeling to take a test. To my excitement and surprise it was positive right away. I was so thrilled that I couldn’t wait for Ben to get home from work to tell him so I took a picture of the test with my phone and sent it to him with the text “ Guess what?” He was excited and came home smiling. KYLEE’S STORY: NO LONGER IN MOMMY’S ARMS BUT FOREVER IN HER HEART

Her story actually began before Friday January 23, 2004 but, that is when I discovered thanks to two little pink lines that I was expecting my first baby, I was 21-years-old… Of course like a good deal of mommies I pictured a Sweet, Beautiful, Baby Girl and visions of cute pink dresses and frilly outfits. My pregnancy was perfect; my only problem was awesome “morning” sickness. I couldn’t wait to find out what I was having (although I suspected my baby was a girl), my suspicions were confirmed on April 7th, her father was happy and excited but also a little sad because just 3 months earlier he was suddenly prevented from seeing his then 23-month-old son by the mother. My SONshine

On a day when most like to play practical jokes, I found out I had nothing to joke about but, rather, jump of joy. On April 1st 2011, I found out I was pregnant with my first child. My husband, Leandre and I were filled with complete and utter joy! We had wanted to start a family for months. We went through the three months of morning (or should I say, everyday) sickness. The weight gain. The doctor visits. The careful diet. All of those wonderful and amazing things, that most of us take for granted, but that I never will again. [Read more...]

Born Still January 7th, 2011

Our story begins in July 2010 when my husband Kyle and I found out that we were expecting our third child. It came as a shock for us. Our two older daughters were 7 and 5 years old, and we had just finished cleaning out our basement of baby items and clothes two months prior, figuring the baby days were behind us. Kyle had just turned 39 and I 38, and we had not anticipated in having any more children, but then a little surprise came into our lives. Our two daughters, Lauren & Kaitlyn were very excited to be big sisters, and we learned that our little bundle of joy was due to arrive March 28, 2011. [Read more...]

For all of my life, as long as I can remember, I have wanted to be a mom. God blessed me with Isaac and let me become one on this earth and I will forever thank Him for that. However, another thing that some may even think I’m weird for, that I wanted to experience was being pregnant long enough to feel my baby move, to see their beautiful baby outline on the ultrasound machine and hear their precious heart beating. Labor induced at 22 weeks due to fatal birth defect

Blacklick, OH

This story begins on September 18, 2010 when I took a pregnancy test and it was positive! After the loss of our first pregnancy at 8 weeks, this was the healing we were looking for. We went to the doctor’s office just a couple weeks later (5 weeks pregnant) and saw our little grain of rice-sized baby on the ultrasound. The little heart was just beating away as strong as it could be. We went again for ultrasounds at 7 and 9 weeks. We breathed a small sigh of relief to have made it further along than we had with baby #1. We thought this was going to be the one! [Read more...]
