Since I was a young child I always wanted to be a mother.  Within a year of our marriage I was saying to my husband a saying I would say for five years until we had the funds to have one it was “Lets have a baby”.  I never dreamed that anything would ever go wrong and that it was pretty easy “to have a baby”.

Mom to little bean

July 5th, 2011

Sierra Madre, CA

I found out that I was pregnant on June 11th. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw those two little pink lines appear on the hpt I had taken. I took 7 more tests just to make sure and they were all positive. When it finally sunk it I just burst into tears of joy… I was pregnant! There is nothing more that I wanted in the world than to be a mom. I was actually supposed to start fertility treatments at the end of the month. [Read more…]

Early miscarriage at 5 1/2 weeks

June 13th 2011

Nazareth, PA

My husband and I have been together for about 3 1/2 years prior to getting married.  Before the wedding, we knew that we would want to start trying for a baby right away after getting married – due to the fact that he already has two children from a previous marriage and that he is quite a bit older than I am.  We were married on May 20th 2011, and everything went off without a hitch!  We spent our honeymoon in Jamaica, which was a wonderful time. It also couldn’t have worked out more perfectly due to the fact I knew I was also ovulating that week during our honeymoon. [Read more…]

Miscarried on June 25th, 2010 at 10 weeks, 5 days

Frisco, TX

I’ve been wanting to write my miscarriage story for a while. It has just taken me this long to find the right words. It all started when my husband and I found out we were pregnant with our very first baby on Mother’s Day 2010. I actually took a positive test on that day, but had to wait and share my excitement with him for a couple days because he was out of town, and that is just not something you share on the phone! We were both pretty surprised, but very excited.

Early miscarriage at 9 1/2 weeks

I remember April 24, 2011 as if it was yesterday. That was the day that I realized that life has so much more meaning and how much i could love someone so genuinely. My journey started when I found out that I was pregnant 2 days after my sister’s birthday. When I seen those 2 pink lines staring back at me it was like my life flashed before my eyes and all I could do was cry. After spilling the news to my best friend, (who’s house I was at to take the test.)  I immediately called my boyfriend to let him know. After being reassured by him that, “Everything is going to be OK.”  The reality of telling my parents that I am pregnant hit me…. and hit me HARD. I was only 20 years old and in my 3rd year of college still just a baby in their eyes. [Read more…]

Baby B

June 24, 2011

Madison, WI

My husband and I decided in October of 2010 that we would try to start our family in January 2011.  After talking to my Sister-In-Law on January 23, I realized that I was able to take an HPT.  I was 5 days out from my next period and I was almost shaking as I took the test.  PREGNANT!  My husband and I stared at in in disbelief.  We both started laughing and crying and hugged each other.  “It actually works!  Making a baby actually works!” we were saying.  We were so cocky.  Looking back I feel so embarrassed about how overly confident we were. April 2011

Cohoes, NY

My name is Samantha and I am a 33 year old woman who has had one live birth and has suffered 6 miscarriages.  My husband and I were married in August of 2006 and decided we wanted to try and have children right away.  We found out in November that were pregnant and were so excited.  We decided to tell our families right away.  They were all so excited, as were we.  We had no idea what to expect, but things were going well.  I started having some spotting just after Christmas, and was very scared by what was going on.  I went to the ER with my husband and they said that it did not look good.  By now I was having heavy bleeding and spotting.  I ended up miscarrying our first child at 7 weeks.  It was December 31, 2006.  Sadly as I was in one hospital miscarrying, my niece was being born in another.   [Read more…]

Mom to Rowan

June 15th, 2011

Culpeper, Virginia

My baby was taken too soon from us.  From the moment our first son was conceived, we knew we wanted another baby less than two years apart.  We wanted brothers who grew up as best friends.  Or, a big brother who’d protect his little sister at any cost.  We decided to start trying, again, in March.  April came and my period arrived.  May came.  I waited and I waited.  No period.  I tested every single day.  Negative every time.  Finally, on May 21, I got the faintest pink line.  I took another test two days later.  That same day I took a digital and confirmed with a big, fat “YES+”.  We were more than over-joyed. I always knew I wanted children, but I didn’t seriously think about it until I got married to my high school sweetheart in June 2006, at age 20. Then suddenly it was like a lightbulb went on and I knew that I just wanted to be a stay-at-home mom. I knew it was best for me to finish college first, but it was a big struggle for me to have to wait awhile to try to have a baby. By early 2007 we had stopped using any contraception, and in June 2007 I found out that I was pregnant. [Read more…]

I am a face of a miscarriage. My little angel started his adventure to earth before Mother’s Day 2009. My boyfriend, at the time, Charles and I were expecting our first child together. We found out on Mother’s Day that we were expecting when I took 3 at home pregnancy tests because I was unable to believe the first one. We called our local health department and made an appointment to confirm the results which was still the same, pregnant. At that moment, they told me I was due January 22, 2010. [Read more…]

Baby lost to Ectopic Pregnancy

May 2011

Logan, Ohio

On May 5,2011 I got my positive home test. I was so excited, me and my fiance were talking about having another child but we really didn’t expect it to happen this soon but it did, and we were willing to do whatever it took to make ends meet. I called an OB to schedule my first appointment. They had told me to come in on May 18th at 2:30pm. May 14th rolls around and I noticed that I was having some horrible sharp pains down in the lower part of my stomach on the right side. I had no clue what it could be, and with the biggest fear which was I thought I was miscarrying I drove to the hospital with Michael at my side. They took some blood, did a urine test and gave me a ultrasound. The blood and urine came back positive, and the ultrasound looked ok to the ER doctor. So he told me that I had a cyst on my right ovary and it is possible that was causing the pain. Told me to take some tylenol and if the pain got worse or if I started to bleed to come back. Mom to 4 angles due to miscarriage

July 2000 (7wks), October 2001 (11 1/2 weeks), August 2003 (5 weeks), August 2007 (6weeks)

I never knew if I could get pregnant.  I knew I had endometriosis. I used to tell people I did not know if we wanted children, but oh, we wanted a baby so bad.  Imagine my surprise when I was pregnant just weeks after our wedding.  However, deep down, I knew immediately something wasn’t right. At the time there really wasn’t a way to know- no pain or anything. It was just a feeling.  About a week after I found out I was pregnant I began spotting. I was living in a new town and did not have a doctor but I called one to make an appointment.  I was told it was normal to spot. It didn’t feel normal, but noboday seemed to care.  Of course, it would not have mattered even if I could have seen the doctor.  I spotted for well over a week, maybe two.  One rainy, late summer morning I woke up and knew that was it.  I knew that day would be the end of our pregnancy.  I asked my husband to look up directions to the nearest ER and we drove.  I screamed and cried as it all came to end. I shook with fear and sadness so deep I thought I would never escape.

Missed Miscarriage

May, 2011

Rancho Cordova, CA

My name is Kayla Bosley and my Husband Eric and I eric met in 2005. I don’t know what I would do without Eric and I feel like the luckiest girl in the world to be his wife. From the time we met we knew that we wanted to have children. We got married in June of 2009 and we started trying right away to have children. Getting pregnant was not as easy as we envisioned it to be; so we started trying every fertility monitor that was available. When I still wasn’t pregnant in June of 2010 I went to the doctor. She started by giving me routine blood tests and tested many different levels. Fortunately all of my blood work came back fine in regards to getting pregnant and we just had to be patient. Unfortunately, the doctor found that my liver enzymes were 3 times higher than normal. After many tests and switching doctors multiple times in September of 2010; a CT scan revealed a tumor in my pancreas. The tumor was removed September 13, 2010 with the Whipple Procedure. The pathology report showed that my tumor was called a Pancreatic Neuroendocrine Tumor…Cancer!!!

Mom to “Pooter”

May 11th, 2011

Peoria, IL

At the end of February, we found out that we were expecting.  We were very excited because I was ready to have another child (I have 2 girls & 1 boy) and my husband (biologically) doesn’t have any but has taken the role as Dad in my children lives’ (…a definite BLESSING!).  But more than anything I wanted my hubby to experience the gift of life, that he & I created. So after I graduated with my Masters in December, I scheduled an appointment to get the Mirena, an IUD, removed in January.
