Sadly lost November 29, 2012

Everything is still very new to me [at time of writing]. I even find myself thinking I’m still pregnant at times. This is the hardest thing I have ever gone through. I lost my baby boy 4 days ago, and it’s been a roller coaster since.

I found out he had anencephaly, a neural tube defect, causing him not to form a skull. I found this out when I was 5 months pregnant, shortly after my second ultrasound. I then had to come to accept the fact that I needed to end my pregnancy. There is a 0% chance of survival for babies with anencephaly.

Emelina’s Birth Story

My husband I met in August 2001 and knew shortly that we were meant to be; in 2003 we welcomed our first daughter.

We decided after almost 6 years to finally start trying for a second child, so in June 2011 we went decided to start trying and on July 2 2011 we found out we were pregnant with our second child. My pregnancy had a few challenges one being morning sickness through the whole thing…as well as this baby decided it did not like me to eat any meat other than chicken. I had back and hip pain that made working a challenge but my whole pregnancy was normal…until February 18… [Read more…]

I was 15 when I found out I was pregnant for the first time. I didn’t believe it when my doctor told me, I even  told her it was impossible.  I had suffered ovarian cysts for some time and I honestly didn’t think I would ever be able to conceive.  I was also bleeding while my Dr told me from what I believed to be my period. My Dr ordered another urine sample pregnancy test and it came back positive again.  My boyfriend was 21, we were scared. My Dr gave me the advice to have an abortion and I refused. I went home and took it easy waiting for the bleeding to stop. The bleeding would calm when I was laying  down but once I sat up I would bleed again. At 10 weeks I had a huge bleeding spell and went to the ER. I had a very hard time getting the staff to stop suggesting a D&C. I had an ultrasound that showed I had a very tilted uterus and surprise I had TWINS. Shock set it very quickly. I had always dreamed of having twins but how on earth could I have two babies at my age?

Mom to Baby November, Miscarried November 24th, 2007
and Baby August, Miscarried August 25th, 2010
Kamloops, British Columbia, Canada
I personally have lost 2 angels to miscarriage. My first was November 24, 2007 at 4 weeks, and the second on August 25, 2010 at 10 weeks 3 days. My first miscarriage was devastating, as my husband and I had been trying for awhile to get pregnant. We had actually been told that we had little chance to conceive. Then finally, 2 little blue lines showed up!! I was overjoyed – I couldn’t wait to be a Mommy :)

Mom to Adrian
Stillborn January 2nd, 2010
British Columbia, Canada
I got married in 2008 to a wonderful man.  Six months later, we decided to start trying for a baby, since I wanted to get pregnant before I turned thirty.  That was a while ago.  I have turned thirty a few times since. And got pregnant a few times since.  I have been pregnant THREE TIMES THIS YEAR and it is only September.  Still have a few more months to go. I am currently recovering from transabdominal cerclage, which I have had done on September 28, 2010.

After many many attempts, about ten IUI’s and clomid and repronex and superovulation, we landed at the IVF clinic and got pregnant for the first time on the very first IVF.   Yes, that actually did happen to me, although it is mostly a blur now.  It wasn’t even so long ago, a little over one year.  At Christmas, when I was coming back home from visiting my parents, at 20 weeks gestation, I lost my mucus plug, and went to the hospital to get checked out.
