Awarded Angel Wings on October 26, 2013

I am a mother to 3 amazing boys… one of whom was awarded his angel wings 8 months ago [at time of writing], after blessing our lives for 2 painful, yet most amazing days. He is our precious baby that almost wasn’t. The entire medical team advised us strongly to terminate as his complications could have brought a risk to me and we were told to consider this as we had our other two boys to think about.

Though our faith is very strong, facing such difficult circumstances and dim alternatives, we ALMOST made the wrong decision, but our story has a more impacting ending. Our courage, strength and faith in God grew and we decided to take on all challenges and continue with our precious baby. There was no way that we would allow anyone to harm him.

Our story continues and so did our pregnancy. We went full term and on October 24, 2013 we were blessed to give birth to an amazing baby boy who has changed our lives forever. He was full of grace, peace, strength, and just overall happiness! We enjoyed very special moments with him, fed him, bathed him, changed him, sang to him, prayed with him and overall just shared deep love between us. The same doctors that had advised us to terminate were all eager to meet him and share in our delight. They all prayed and thanked us for showing them such courage! They are amazing.

The Lord’s plans are not necessarily our own and though we prayed daily for a miracle- the miracle that we prayed for was not the same God had in mind for us. Our precious son peacefully earned his angel wings on October 26, 2013 and though as a parent it is the most intense and gut wrenching to watch your own child pass away right before your eyes and not be able to do anything to help, we accept the Lord’s plan and day by day refocus our energies and grief into something positive.

We know our son is waiting for us and that one day we will be reunited with him. That we are certain. In the meantime, we have been blessed with a brand new idea and concept that we know comes from the Lord. It is a concept called Tribute Code and it was humbly designed from our own personal emotional and grief needs, and it is in honor of our baby son, Jake that we truly feel will also help others in their own healing process.
